PB Kitchen Design “Home Bar” the 5th most popular worldwide on Houzz

PB Kitchen Design Beverage Station

PB Kitchen Design Beverage Station

The option to feature a “home bar” is becoming a more common request from our clients. Many are looking for a useful area adjoining family and gathering rooms to access drinks and snacks without screaming “bar.” In fact, one of our projects located in Mequon, Wisconsin, has landed our design team in the Top 10 for “Best Bar” in Chicago on Houzz, and the fifth most popular home bar photo of all time on Houzz worldwide.

This particular home was new construction and featured many strong industrial aesthetics, yet preserved a warm and organic feel of the architecture. Senior Designer, Dave McFadden, noted that the purpose behind the bar/beverage station is to act as a bond between meal prep and living spaces.

“The beverage station is not a new feature in home remodeling, however, it has taken on a new feel, steering clear of a traditional “bar-like” feel and honing in on more of a butler’s pantry-esque design,” states Dave.

Set up for everyday living and entertaining, this particular beverage station features two Sub-Zero products, a wine refrigerator, and beverage cooler for storing beer, wine, and garnishes. The cabinetry, made by Quality Custom Cabinetry, is finished in Benjamin Moore Copley Gray that creates a beautiful segue from the kitchen color palette to the family room area.

The fluted glass on the upper cabinets showcases a sophisticated aesthetic that reflects the idea of a butler’s pantry, integrated into the wall of the living room, but full of high style and function.

We are honored to be a source of inspiration for homeowners on a platform like Houzz and within the kitchen design industry, as this project went on to win First Place honors in the National Kitchen and Bath Association’s 2014 Design Competition.
